How to extend the volume of drive

Hi friends this post will tell you to "How to extend the size of C drive, D drive or others. There are many tools available to change the size of volume. But I am posting two most popular and reliable method to manage partition.

1st Method:

Preparation: 

1. Insure what amount you want to increase in C drive and that amount should be free on another drive or unallocated space should be availabe. If there is some unallocated space then follow the step from beginning. If not, then you have to follow the below step from starting. Please note if you want to extend the size of C drive, then it is almost impossible with method 1you have to followed the method 2 with the help of third party tools. 

1. Go to start=> right click on computer.
2. Click on Disk management in left pane. 
3. Select the appropriate drive from which you want to take size. Please select only that drive where is less data and more size free. This drive size will be reduce.
4. Right click on selected drive and click to Shrink Valume.
5. A process of "Querying volume for available shrink space" will be display.
6. Shrink window will be open. Enter the appropriate amount of size to be shrink in the box of "Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB"
7. Click on Shrink
8. Now select the  drive which you want to extend the size.
9. Right click on the selected drive and click to "Extend Volume"
10. Click Next
11. Enter the appropriate amount of size to increase the selected drive in the box of "Select the amount of space in MB"
12. Click Next and then click Finish.

Congrats you have done. Your drive has been increased. If you could'nt done by this method then try method 2 using mini partition tool.
